This project was the most exciting to me because my topic is based on film, videography, and photography. Making a video to showcase my passion is what I love to do. For this I used all video clips I had captured on vacation and various different travels. I was excited to use drone footage I recorded over the summer because that is an area of film that is becoming more popular to use to capture moments and places. To make this I used inspiration from several travel vloggers on youtube who get paid to make edits of their highlights from their trips. I pretty much made a montage to showcase my travels and my talent.
My design process was somewhat easy I complied all video clips from my camera and imported them into premiere. I then found a song that was techno, upbeat, and had a good melody. I think finding a song is one of the most important steps when editing a video because it helps you cut and edit the clips to match the beat of the song which is one of the main techniques I used to edit this video.
I think the most challenging part of the video was making my end title or graphic because it is a glitch title. I taught myself how to do this over the summer but it still doesn’t get easier. I used a basic title screen then created a bunch of different key frames to move the title back and forth to give the effect that it is glitching. I then went in and used the glitch transition/effect in adobe to add the final touches to complete it. I did not have any difficulties with the software. However, it is different to learn a new software because I am used to Final Cut Pro because that is what I used in my classes in high school was adapting to a different software has its challenges.
Song Used: Good for you by THBD
I like the video as a whole, I love watching these types of videos on Youtube. Your video does a good job at transitioning from clip to clip in order to match the beat of the music. One big thing I noticed about your video is that you need to credit not only who filmed and edited the video, but as well as the music you used. Generally, credits go in the back but maybe you can incorporate the music credit in the beginning since there is no voiceover. I would also add a voiceover just in the beginning describing what your company is about because it seems it’s missing something or it’s just too little. The voiceover doesn’t have to be that long. By adding a voiceover it also informs the viewers about your video. Other than that, your draft is solid and a good foundation to build from before turning in your final draft.
